Robyn Mason was a passionate advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. She dedicated her career to serving others, working at a private agency that provided essential housing and support services for Deaf individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her work touched many lives and demonstrated her deep commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

A proud alumna of the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB), Robyn graduated in 1984 from the historic institution based in St. Augustine, Florida. Throughout her life, she remained connected to her roots and was a beloved figure among Deaf peers, colleagues, and friends.

Eric Sugrowe Killed On The Highway

Eric M. Sugrowe, a beloved member of the Deaf community, was tragically struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on a Maryland highway. The incident occurred on a late evening when Eric was walking along the roadway. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation by Maryland State Police.

Eric was known for his kind spirit, sense of humor, and strong presence in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Friends describe him as a positive and compassionate individual who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His sudden passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

A dedicated supporter of Deaf culture and advocacy, Eric often participated in community events and gatherings, connecting with others through shared language and experience. His life, while cut short, served as a reminder of the ongoing challenges Deaf pedestrians face in public safety and transportation accessibility.

Loved ones are now mourning this heartbreaking loss. Eric leaves behind family, friends, and a close-knit Deaf community who will remember him for his warmth and resilience. His death has prompted discussions about the importance of visibility and safety for Deaf pedestrians, especially along high-traffic areas and highways.

As we reflect on Eric’s life and legacy, we send our deepest condolences to those affected by this tragedy. His memory will continue to inspire action and awareness in the pursuit of safer, more inclusive communities for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Rest in peace, Eric.
