A deaf New Jersey man, Umar King, was killed when stolen SUV crashed into him while he waits for his ride home from overnight shift at Newark Airport. The driver and passengers ran after the crash occurred. All suspects were later caught and charged for the police chase and death of an innocent man.
King was well-known in the deaf community. So many folks came to pay respects to King as they celebrated his life at the funeral at The Heavenly Temple COGIC on January 31.
King attended Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C and also attended Bowie State University in Maryland. King was a father of 9 years old daughter. He had a huge love for basketball and huge fan of Lebron James. Also, King taught American Sign Language (ASL) as a volunteer.

The service included music selections by His Hands Deaf Choir and Mountaintop Adult Choir. King is being buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.
